Perforated
Surface + Light
Perforated metal surfaces allow architects to shape how light interacts with the building envelope. By controlling open area, perforation size, and pattern density, designers can filter daylight while reducing glare and solar gain. The result is a surface that moderates light rather than blocking it—creating soft illumination, layered shadows, and a façade that changes throughout the day.
Surface + Depth
Perforated panels introduce dimensionality to otherwise flat façade conditions. When used as screenwalls or secondary skins, the perforated surface creates visual depth between the panel and the primary building envelope. This layered condition allows the façade to read as a continuous architectural surface while concealing equipment, structure, or service areas behind a refined metal screen.
Surface + Pattern
Perforation patterns transform the façade into a designed surface. Standard or custom perforations establish rhythm, scale, and visual texture across the building envelope. From subtle uniform grids to large-format custom patterns, the surface becomes an opportunity to express identity while maintaining the performance requirements of ventilation, screening, and passive environmental control.
Perforated Tech
Perforated metal panels are a versatile solution for architectural applications including ventilation, acoustical treatments, passive sun shading, sunscreens, enclosures, screens, dividers, and protective covers. They can be engineered to precisely control the transmission of air, light, and sound, making them suitable for both functional and aesthetic design intent.Metallic Panels offers a wide range of hole sizes, open-area percentages, and pattern configurations. Standard round perforations provide the most cost-effective option, while custom perforation shapes and layouts are available subject to additional cost and design constraints. For exterior applications, aluminum substrates are recommended due to their inherent corrosion resistance, durability, and long-term performance in exposed environments.
